Science

Our third grade science program encourages students to be questioners-inquiring about the world around them and constructing knowledge from their own observations and experimentation.

Our main focus is to deepen understanding through investigation and discourse about key ideas in science.

"High-quality elementary science education is essential for establishing a sound foundation of learning in later grades, instilling a wonder of and enthusiasm for science that lasts a lifetime, and in addressing the critical need for a well-informed citizenry and society."  ---National Science Teaching Association

Social Studies

In third grade Social Studies, we begin to step outside of ourselves to understand other points of view. We explore our local history, beginning with the first inhabitants of Marin County, the Coast Miwoks. We believe that the development of strong citizens begins with an ability to think and reason carefully and to embrace the beautiful diversity of cultures in the world.
